CCHV is committed to creating a diverse ecumenical organization, with representatives of a wide range of religions, working together respectfully and collaboratively to solve a pressing social issue in Chicago--the persistence of homelessness and the ways and means to end it.

CCHV is currently expanding its Board to provide the infrastructure to achieve its renewed and ambitious vision by:

  • Seeking a second Board representative from every member congregation;
  • Reaching out to all-faith-based organizations in its the CCHV service area and inviting them to join CCHV;
  • Expanding its service area.
     Development Committee
    The goals of the Development Committee are to:
  • Recruit new congregations to CCHV;
  • Lead the Board development process;
  • Oversee outreach and education for the clergy of member congregations;
  • Begin planning for housing development with the goals of opening a new building within three years.
     Support Committee
     The goals of the Support Committee are to:
  • Develop a year-long program of project which individual congregations could organize to help residents of the Studios;
  • Develop cross-congregational ecumenical activities in which member of all of CCHV member organizations could work together;
  • Help with new congregation recruitment efforts.
